Steps to becoming a make up artist?

I do my friend's all the time (Guys included), they say i do a really good job, and that i have a talent for making it look like their natural face and not just some mask


But i would like to know how to make my talent a way to get some extra money


I've heard that i could start out from my local MAC store or something like that, but what would you recommend?Steps to becoming a make up artist?
You really should go to a school if you seriously want to do this for your career. There are a ton of different schools out there, it just depends on where you live. If you just want to do this as a part-time thing and not a career you could try to get a job at a cosmetics counter at your local department store. It's easier to get a job at some of the smaller lines than it is for MAC. I got a job working for a Chanel counter years ago and they give you basic training on their products and then refresher training every so often when new products come out. Cosmetology school is a MUST, no matter how much natural talent you have!





But in the meantime, you can get started at a local department stores makeup counter... Just go in, and apply for some jobs!
