What year did Christians make up the holiday of Christmas?
Christians decided to celebrate the birth of Christ, the Nativity, very early on in the church's history. Early writers from the 3rd century (about 200 AD)) mention it being on various days in different places around the ancient world. Some mention is made also of Epiphany - the celebration of the coming of the Magi - and in some places this was combined with the Nativity.

The date of 25th December was established in Rome sometime in the 3rd century or very early 4th century. However, that date is also suggested by a much earlier work from about 220 AD which places Christ's conception (the Annunciation) on March 25th.

The only known pagan festival on that date, 25th December, is not recorded earlier than Christmas being created in around 270 AD.
The earliest reference to the date of the nativity on December 25 is found in the Chronography of 354, an illuminated manuscript compiled in Rome in 354. In the East, early Christians celebrated the birth of Christ as part of Epiphany (January 6), and this festival included the celebration of the baptism of Jesus.

Christmas was promoted in the Christian East as part of the revival of Catholicism following the death of the pro-Arian Emperor Valens at the Battle of Adrianople in 378. The feast was introduced to Constantinople in 379, and to Antioch in about 380. The feast disappeared after Gregory of Nazianzus resigned as bishop in 381, although it was reintroduced by John Chrysostom in about 400.
its a pagan holiday for santa or st. nick christans did not come up with it but it seem as if they did to celabrate the birth of christ christmas is a time of year to bring people together in love or you can through out my thoughts and google it under history of christmas
It's unknown, but the earliest reference to it is from 354 A.D.

There was a lot of debate amongst early Christians as to whether or not Jesus' birthday should be celebrated, and if so, when.
Christians did not do that. Pagans did. Real Christians do not practice pagan rituals.
