You don't. Seriously? Whats the big deal? You are going on (what seems) a family vacation, and your BF can't come along. Trust me there will be plenty more months for you to love each other. If anything, celebrate your six month when you get back from your vacation. Write him a note before you go about how you love him so much. Though honestly he should understand that you love him but you have to go on a family vacation and that he will have to wait till you get back.
well i missed my 7month with my boyfriend and i just suggested spending a night together watching a movie :) this made him happy but then again you could take him for dinner or do something romantic :D
Most people celebrate anniversary's yearly. Are you rewriting the rules?
You did say 6month anniversary. This isn't that big a deal. I never see any Hallmark items or monthly anniversary items in the stores. I thought aniversary celebrations usually start at 1yr if you are married and never if you are only dating. tell him, sorry and you will definately be home for your 1 year anniversary when you both can celebrate over the 1 year traditional anniversary cake
take him with you .
Set something up in advance..

Like have something really nice delivered to his door on that day, or something like that. Or get him tickets to something he really likes and maybe tell him to go with a friend. Make it up when you come back, or on your 7 month anniversary.
