Do make up sponges keep a lot of bacteria?

Hey, I've got some acne... and Im tired of it.... so, I was thinking, maybe my make up sponges keep bacteria...shall I use my fingers instead to put on my foundation?? Thanks!Do make up sponges keep a lot of bacteria?
yes, they absolutely do. but DON'T use your fingers unless you just washed your hands. you don't want to spread any bacteria to your makeup or your face.

i recommend using a wedge sponge (for liquid foundation) and then washing your sponge with soap and water every 2-3 days. this will prevent bacterial build-up, which could lead to breakouts.

if you use makeup brushes, wash them weekly with shampoo and warm water.Do make up sponges keep a lot of bacteria?
I'm pretty sure that yes they do hold bacteria, both good and bad. They're just like makeup brushes, because they touch your skin, and have some kind of product on them. Over time, the products build up and your skin oils are on it also, so all they need is a good wash (gentle soap with no irritating chemicals works great with warm water). And remember: sharing makeup and makeup tools with other people is a no-no. :)
deffinetly! you can't really wash makeup sponges, so everytime you use your sponge to put on foundation, your getting germs on your face from the previous time you used foundation. even your fingers, its not suggested. you should invest in a foundation brush. i got mine in a duo concealer and foundation brush from the brand essence of beauty i think, it was 10 dollars but there really good. or you could buy a bag of sponges at sallys i think, and just disspose of them after each use.
yes they do which is why you should never share them with others even your brushes especially with others that have bad skin. Which is why you must clean them or just get new sponges. It happened to me ever since i began washing mine my acne reduced...also try to get some make up that dont clog up your pores taht could be it also
Yes, everytime you use it, some of the product stays stuck in the pores of the sponge %26amp; it eventually builds up with loads of bacteria that you can't completely get rid of. I would dispose it after a few uses or get disposable ones.
Oh yes they keep millions of bacteria, so each and every time use a new sponge, and wash your hands right before touching your face.

Hope that helped.

Good Luck.

Good Bye.
I have done both. Washed the sponges and threw them away too! They are not that expensive either!
Use a brush, or disposble sponges, they too like brushes need to be washed, but its easier to just replace them!
Yes. Wash them at least once a week and that keeps from bacteria building up.
