Does Sotomayors addition make the supreme court more closely resemble the make up of today's diverse America?

Yes- I believe it Does. To BEGIN with, -the Court NEEDS another Woman in it. - After ALL, the Country IS 50% female- and having just ONE Woman out of 9 Justices in the Court representing them- smacks of ';Tokenism';. Secondly, the Next Largest ';minority'; after THAT in the Country -are Latinos from all OVER the Americas... And seeing as how we have ALREADY had 2 Black Supreme Court Justices (thus representing the THIRD largest racial minority in the Land), it certainly doesn't HURT that we have a Justice of Latino extraction... ... So YES; I believe Today's Supreme Court selection- BETTER exemplifies our diverse American Culture- as a Whole. :)Does Sotomayors addition make the supreme court more closely resemble the make up of today's diverse America?
Yes - now a good liberal voice - all the way to a creepy fascist like Scalia who LOVES torture. Probably gives him a stiff one.

That probably typifies America pretty well. There's a good percentage of Americans who are shameless Nazis and anti-Constitutional folks - that's the republicans and religious fanatics and Neo-Cons who together form The Big Lie.Does Sotomayors addition make the supreme court more closely resemble the make up of today's diverse America?
She replaced a liberal judge who I believe she's much more radical than, so to answer your question, no. Her appointment pushed the court slightly more to the left, most Americans consider themselves right of center conservatives. God bless.
It's a beginning.

Considering over 50% of the population are women, we still have a ways to go. Not to mention all the other cultures in this country.
With the exception of the Black Republican Justice (which is totally not representative of America). It is looking closer to the diversity of America.
Perhaps. However, diversity in and of itself has no value. In the case of a court, only experience, talent, and impartiality are relevant.
what difference does the make up of the supreme court as far as being diverse the supreme court is suppose to follow the constitution not be a social engineering devise
Ummm, sure, and WHO CARES? She is a disgusting, arrogant pig and it's an embarrassment to have her as a judge on the Supreme Court.
We were missing the ignorant, racist, ';blame whitey'; component in the supreme court.
You might be correct in that.

I am glad there are truly wise white men on that court though. Maybe they will balance her ';wisdom and empathy'; stance.
The problem is that people think like you. If you look at race and support people because of their race you are racist, not one lib has said anything about her policies.
It closely resembles the foolishness of today's elected and appointed officials.
Her addition makes the Supreme Court look like a racist organization.
I can't believe the answers you are getting for this question. these ppl are the more racist, intolerant than Sotomayor is but hey free country and they are voicing their unbearable opinions
I have yet to meet a radical racist in my dealing with the Hispanic community. So I hope not.
If thats is what you want to think. Many Hispanics I know are far more conservative than her.
The SC has to be at least 21% racist to represent the liberals.
I thought Latina women were supposed to be good looking!
If she were a conservative then I would say yes.
legally speaking?
Bad thing rise to the top
