Any1 know of a good/cheap bridal make up artist in West Yorkshire?

I'm getting married in August this year and would like to have my make up done professionally, but cant afford to spend 拢80 + to have it done. Any1 know of any1 good in West Yorkshire that would come to my house to do it on the day?

Thanks in advance,

SarahAny1 know of a good/cheap bridal make up artist in West Yorkshire?
I am in Scotland, so can't help with someone in your local area.

What I did was go to the clinique counter at my local debenhams and get them to do a (free) makeover and show me how to do everything properly.

I then bought the makeup that I needed and did it myself.

Worth a try if you are on a budget!Any1 know of a good/cheap bridal make up artist in West Yorkshire?
Do you know what, I would speak to local hairdressers, they usually bump into bridal make up artists.

If I was on a budget i'd find one of my friends, there's always one girl who has perfect make up and really knows what she's doing, and they know you better, and what will suit you, spend the cash you have on a fabulous foundation and mascara!
yes i do

Belk. Clinique counter or MAC counter.

Is it better to wear natrual color make up On african american skin?

or does african american darker skin look better with silvers and whites? Is it better to wear natrual color make up On african american skin?
I think african american skin looks great with gold silver and white. I would go with metallics so it shows better on your skin. I'd stay away from bronze since it is too much like your skin. Is it better to wear natrual color make up On african american skin?
I think African American skin looks great with natural tones and such.

What kind of make up I need for prom?

prom is saturday. My dress is a bronze, my skin color is caramel.

if you put (Style: INT4183) in google, the link to the dress will show. Please help, I will appreciate it.What kind of make up I need for prom?
Natural makeup, but maybe play up the eyes with a nice warm eyeshadow the color as your dress. Like a warm bronze eyeshadow. Keep everything else really basic, so that the focus is on your eyes. Pink lip gloss, mascara, blush...very basic.

Hope that helps :]What kind of make up I need for prom?
first off your dress is so hott!!!

and i think you should do something either natural or very contrasting...
most malls willhave a clinique counter that will do your makeup for free!

and htey can usually tell you what will look good, bring pictures of your dress or even your actual dress along, but make sure to call ahead of time and make and appointment, and make sure it's free. some bigger cities won't do it for free anymore
Make your eyes pop by putting on makeup that is much lighter than your skin. Blend it in and apply a lot of black mascara. Don't apply too much blush, if any. Have a sparkly pink lip gloss and make sure to put it in the center of your lips, it makes them look bigger! Paint nails a light pink. Good luck!
go natural, eyeliner, mascara, lipgloss, and voila!
your dress is so cute......i think u should go with a natural tone.

alittle blush mascara somekind of mineral base ligloss or lipsick eye shadow and whatever.
    I say natural colors

What are your thoughts when a man compliments you on your make-up?

that he was actually like looking at me, right at my face...it might show that he like likes u in a way because usally men dont notice womens makeupWhat are your thoughts when a man compliments you on your make-up?
My first thought is oh-no! I got my make-up on too thick. If they notice my foundation then I need to learn how to properly apply it. I want compliments on beautiful, natural looking skin, not make-up.What are your thoughts when a man compliments you on your make-up?
It's up to you. Is it a man you like? Does it embar rass you that he noticed it? What's your reaction to it?
    makes your lady happy
If a guy said something like I like the way you did your make up I would think he just liked my make up and say thank you.
I think you probably put too much on. Make up should be invisible
well i would be surprised coz it hasn't ever happened. but a guy friend of mine did like my lipgloss and wanted one for his gf.
Men often have a hard time expressing themselves so take any compliment politely and with grace.

A simple ';Thank You ';will do fine.
I prefer him to compliment me on my ';beauty'; rather than my ';makeup';. The makeup is meant to enhance beauty, not to be obviously ';caked on';...
    Thank you
Can you say gay/drag queen?! lol Jk I think you should just take every compliment you get, and say thank you. ^_^
He wishes he can do his make up like mine...
he may be a drag queen....or a straight guy who sells make up.....but real guys don't pay any attention to make up...they might say you look pretty or they may notice your eyes..but they wouldn't say anything about make up for fear some other guy might think them gay.
That all depends on if hes complimenting you that you look good, or that you need it.
It's a good thing. It means that you pay attention to detail, and you respect the little things that a girl does to make herself look good. Besides, we don't stab ourselves in the eye everyday with mascara for personal gratification! We want you to notice!!
Curious. Most guys say they ';don't notice'; make-up, so if he speciffically compliments my make-up I thank him and wonder to myself what made him notice and why. This can lead in two directions, insecurity in yourself, or questions about the relationship between you and that man.

But the best thing to do is say thank you and assume he is complimenting on the fact that you look nice. Then forget about it.
i'd be flattered because not all men take notice on the effort that we put it to make ourselves look good.

How should I do my make-up, to make me look not ill?

this is related to my other question about fake tanning. I think Ill stay pale!

so how can I do my make up so i can look more 'alive' cause I just look very pale.

any helpHow should I do my make-up, to make me look not ill?
Hiya. I have the pale 'she looks anaemic' look too combined with dark eyes. To combat this I bought a tinted moisturiser. It's a moisturiser tinted slightly biegey-pink. Then after that I apply a shade darker than my typical 'Ivory' if I wear the lightest shade it makes me look worse! but you still want that natural look. Then get those brozer pearls in a tub and lightly brush over the face. You don't want to overdo the bronzer, this will definately make you look healthy and glowing. Apply some lipgloss and a little gold eye shimmer! =)How should I do my make-up, to make me look not ill?
On some fair women, contrast works wonders. Darker hair, eyebrows, and so on looks amazing. Especially with heavier than normal eye make-up, and also lipstick. The look can be very dramatic.

For fair skinned blondes, I am not so sure what can be done. Darkening eyebrows can help, but I am not sure what else beyond blush, which can be overused anyway.
Blusher is very good, if your cool or warm tone, that will decide which blusher to use. Pink or brown( go into your local department store for a free make-up advice.). tinted moisturiser is good, make sure you test before you buy. Also johnson summer sun is very good, gives a nice light glow to face and body, gradually over time.
    %26lt;---------

I'm pale too, with dark brown hair and i just add a pop of blush to keep me looking alive.

    No browns needed.

Sometimes if paler people use bronzer it can just make us look dirty.

A nice peachy pink blush will be lovely. In face, cheek and lip tints are great at giving a natural flushed look. Try one of them.
Try a tinted moisturiser to start with it will darken thought out the day :D only so it keeps it natural don't buy a darker foundation it will tern yu orange keep to your normal one maybe add a hit on bronzer

i tend to find the rimmel sun one is really good :D when yu do make sure yu blow off all the excesss an lightlyy brush it over your face :D

    hope this helps
put on a pink lipstick or gloss

a good blush that isnt tan colored

and concealer under your eyes and on red spots :)

you could use an illuminating powder over it too

    or bronzer
Just use a bronzer or a bronze-colored blush. Or you could get some self-tanning lotion and apply it daily.
Fake tanning products from Loreal,Boots and Body Shop or bronzers
paper bag always did the trick ! :)

  • Since which age girls need to use make up?

Nowadays, girls use make up from 9-10 years, but it is very bad for their skin. How they will look lilke when they will 40 or 50 years old?Since which age girls need to use make up?
i was not allowed to wear makeup until i was 15, and now i am completely thankful for that. in less than a month i'll be turning 30, i have very clear skin, and i only wear makeup on special occassions (however on a daily basis i might use a little mascara and some lip gloss). and most people guess my age to be around 23 years old.

so to answer the question, i would have to say that if girls ARE wearing makeup that young (MY 9 year old only has a little lip gloss that i let her use from time to time), if they want to keep their skin healthy they should use very minimal amounts of makeup... i.e. clear mascara, lip gloss. there is no reason for girls so young to cover up their natural beauty with powders and creams that will clog their pores and CAUSE pimples.Since which age girls need to use make up?
well, there really is no certain age it just depends on when you look like you need it. If you have pimples or things you need to cover up on your face, then you should try putting on foundation and cover-up. And as you get older put more make-up on.
i just started using make up and im 12
I think parents shouldn't let their daughters put on make up until t hey are like 14 or 15 when they are a little more mature but not a lot of make up. Around that time they are coming of age and that's when they are considered young adults and should be treated as so but with some restrictions. Just as long as they don't over do it
I am not sure about the age but better never to use it,because too much of makeup has bad reaction on the skin.Use home made cosmetic made from natural plants.
14 or 15 but not foundation until they're ready to graduate from highschool o rgoing to a special event. Wearing it everyday is too much.
When they become 40 or 50, they will have lots of wrinkles on their skin. Their natural beauty will disappear. My mother always tells me to not wear makeup, but sometimes I can't help it. Every girl needs a little bit of foundation. But for girls 9-10 years old, they should not start wearing make up until they are about 15 -16. Its just not right and will make their skin really really bad.
15-16 isa good age im 12 but i only wear lipgloss and eyeliner and mascara on special occasions. I think a good age would be 15-16 . im probably gonna start when im 16 beause the latter the better.I have a girl in my class and she uses eyeliner, mascara, lip gloss, eye shadow , cover up and i dont know what else and she already has a BIG pimple problen but she ignores it and keeps on putting more and more on . all the boys like her cuz i guess she look ok with make up but discusting without. She even sleeps with it I dont wanna now how she is gonna look lke in 20-30 years......
I'm 13 years old and i started putting mak-up when i was 10. but i only put it on special occasions and sometimes when i go out to dinner, so there's no harm. But if I put it everyday then I'll et wrinkles.
I really don't think girls need to use extensive makeup until they are out of highschool. A little lipgloss and eyeshadow is fine but young girls caking on tons of foundation is ridiculous. They should be using a tinted moisturizer and focusing on taking care of their skin, not clogging their pores
    I'd say around 15.

    To start out use this:http://www.clinique.com/product/CATEGORY鈥?/a>

    and this:http://www.clinique.com/product/CATEGORY鈥?/a>

The powder you want would be something oil free so it wwuldn'tclog pores:http://www.clinique.com/product/CATEGORY鈥?/a>

That is perfect it is for people with acne. The drug store brands will clog your pores which will wworsenacne. You can go to the Clinique counter and get your skin tone match and then get your powder. They will know which kind is the best for you (:

I love me my clinique (: it is a bit more expesive than lets say Cover Girl but you can see the diffrenceWhat type of make-up should i use?
you should really wash your face and make sure there are no dirt then you can apply something like a concealer %26amp;or a foundation to cover up your blemishes.

A lipstick styled concealer works great and I think it will work on you too! Good luck%26lt;3
you need to take care of your skin before applying any makeup bc it will just make the problem worse. If you want a medium/full coverage try Revlon Colorstay foundation if you don't want to spend alot of money.
mac. i have baaad spots and that stuff covers it like nobodys business. you should get some :)

    Hi,

I received a Best Answer on this subject maybe it will help you. If you want to try something different try going Smoky and Sultry. Your getting bored with your makeup and it's good to try different things. Let me know what you think and have fun. Good luck.

Prep your lids, and under your eyes first with a tiny bit of eye cream. Just enough to help your shadows not chalk up. Make sure you use powder shadows and not creams for this. Put a champagne color on top and bottom of lid like near the inner corner of your eyes and up around your brow. You want to define the eye so put a eyeliner along the upper lash line, but not like Amy Winehouse. Don't overkill by putting it on bottom too because the next step will help your eyes pop. Sweep a gray or a slate color along your lid and under the lower eyelashes. Use a darker gray in the crease of your eye for a contour. Remember a lot goes a long way you don't want to look scary dark you want to look smoky and sultry. Sometimes I take a bit of the champagne color and put it on the bottom lid on top of the dark color. It makes the eye color pop more. Don't forget to curl your lashes first before applying any mascara. Here's a trick I use. I always blow dry my hair last so before I apply my mascara after I've already put makeup on I set the blowdryer to high and just for about 10 seconds or so heat my eyecurler using the blowdryer. Make sure you don't make the curler too hot or you will burn your eye lids. I always try it by holding it in my hand first to feel how hot it's become. Then curl your lashes. I have bluegreen eyes and this always looks fantastic afterwards. Remember if you emphasize your eyes the most take it easy on the cheek color and lips you won't need as much, and don't use a heavy dark color on your lips if your going smoky for your eyes. Victoria's Secret has a great lip gloss duo for $14.00 that's fantastic.

k well your avatar gives me an idea what you look like but i cant really see you in person so ill just give you some make up tips :]

dont put eyeliner on your top eyelids cause when you put mascara on the eyeliner kind of clashes with the mascara and it doesnt make your eyelashes seem as long as they would with just eyeliner on the bottom :]

and blend blend blend your eyeshadows theres nothing trashier looking then blotchy bold blue eyeshadow like a 5 year old getting in her moms makeup bag lol like i wear every color [[ from blue, to purple to orange ]] but i blend them in with the other colors to get that nice soft look, when i want it to look dramatic i use mascara and quite a bit of eyeliner, and if you put a light shade of silver or white, or like a soft soft pinkish white, or just something light, on the inner corners of your eyes, it will make you look more awake

and brushes are better then those things that come with the make up

just make sure to wash them :]

    http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e300/a鈥?/a>

its just to show blending lol :]
tome down the eyeliner, either go with a brown or go without, make your eyelashes long and pretty with a lengthening not volumising mascara, wear a light reflecting foundation and no eyeshadow and go for red lips, or a bright colour, its the hottest trend in makeup this season.
Less eyeliner, and more shadows, instead of a liquid do a pencil. If I'm going for a younger look i usually apply my eyeliner (pencil) and then wipe off most of it just making my lashes dark and then apply shadow. HIP is a rally good line.
    you could go for a really natural look;

use different shades of golds and brown eyeshaddows and smudge them in so it goes from dark to light. wear little mascara and a nice bronzey coloured lipstick. i wouldn't go for this style if you have really pale skin though.
Try playing with some color. L'Oreal has an AWESOME line called HIP (High Intensity Pigments). They have bold colors and they look really cool. Also try MAX factor's new mascara with the highlighting end.

Dose anyony have any tips for applying make-up?

I have never been a girly girl, because, well I could never afford makeup other than eyeliner. So yesterday I kind of splurged and bought foundation, a new lip color with gloss, and the covergirl exact eyelights mascara, liner and eyeshadow for hazel eyes.

Can anyone give me some tips about applying any of this kind of makeup.

btw I do know that the exact eyelights have instructions on it.Dose anyony have any tips for applying make-up?
    Hi!

    Ok,

if you have a duo, trio, or single eyeshadow. I'm guessing single. So, begin by lining your eyes. Close your eyes and gently hold it with your fingers (gently! Pull to hard, you will get premature wrinkles) until you have a taught smooth surface. Gently start from the middle of your upper lash line, and slowly move outwards. Then, begin from the inner corner areas of the eye and move over the line you just made. Remember, if you don't like your line, just start over. If your a new-bie it's ok.

    Next, take either...

    1. a makeup brush (if you don't hav, look below)

    2. the sponge wand that SHOULD come with your product (i don't like using these, but if you perfer...)

    3. your fingers (the easy makeup tool. please, i don't recommend a sponge wand, but if you don't gotta brush, use your fingers.)

Begin by saturating the color of the eyeshadow in your brush/spongewand/fingers and gently rub it across the lid.

If you have a duo, rub the lighter color across the lid, and the darker color up in your crease. The area where the little folds are...

If you have a trio, rub the lightest color across the lid, the darker across your crease, and the darkest, along the outer corners of your crease. Or, try using the darker along the lid, the darkest along your crease and the lightest in your inner corner and brow bone.

Now, take that Sponge wand or your fingers and lightly blend together the colors. Remember, keep the colors soft and light, only reapplying if you can't see them.

Now, mascara. You just bought the suckiest one. I'm sorry. Why? The exact eye lights has no sparkle in it. Instead, it's the clumpiest mascara. No worries! Trade it in for Cover Girl's Lash Blast Luxe Mascara. Lash Blast is one of drugstores most famous mascaras. The luxe one has the sparkles, while eye lights is not that great. Apply the mascara to your upper lashes. Don't apply to your lower ones, they may smudge into your dark circles.

    apply a little gloss!

Now, if you still want to explore makeup I would try buying...

%26gt; a bronze eyeshadow. This looks good on any skin color just sweep it on your lids

%26gt; a makeup consultation at Nordstroms, Mac, or Sephora. Just to see what they suggest. Plus, at sephora it's free! (ask them to apply a bronze shadow)

%26gt; a lipstick (just for fun)Dose anyony have any tips for applying make-up?

    LOreal

    Rimmel London

    MAC

Thanks soo much =]What's your fav. product %26amp; color of product from the following make-up companies?
Loreal- their glam shine lip glosses are so pretty, last pretty long and have the most fab colors. I also like their HIP liquid lip colors.

Rimmel London- their kohl kajal eyeliner pencil is my favorite. smoothy, creamy, and makes that smudgy, smoky look. I use the black one everyday.

MAC- I LOVE their paint pots, especially the one called ';Quite Natural';, which has just enough color for everyday.

I also LOVE their pigments, you can mix it with pretty much anything, like nail polish and lotion for a shimmer, lip gloss for added color, and you can use it wet or dry on your eyes. I use it wet on my eyes for an intense look, i love the color ';Rose'; it is gorgeous.

My favorite out of these would have to be Rimmel. What's your fav. product %26amp; color of product from the following make-up companies?
Personally I like Scott Barnes but you can only get it at three places in the world, San Francisco Bloomingdales, LA Bloomingdales and New York Bloomingdales. But out of those I like MAC.
    MAC and LOreal Rock

What kind of make up will cover my scars?

I have a few small scars on my face from being attacked by my dog when i was little. theyre nothing big, but i'm looking for a liquid/ matte cover up that wont leave streaks....

10 point for best answer.... thank you! What kind of make up will cover my scars?
Dermablend is great. it makes your skin seem flawless. it is thick and stays put. i have tiny scars from a dog too and i use this on special occasions and when i have pictures taken. it gives me a completely flawless look. it might be too much for eveyday. but you can buy a tiny touch up stick to just put on the scars everday. you can buy it at macys. works like nothing i've ever tried. hope this helps. What kind of make up will cover my scars?
Concealer AND a good liquid foundation should do the trick. I don't know which concealer to recommend you (because I'm usually too lazy to bother with it), but for the foundation try Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra, I love it! :)
Liquid make-up would make your skin Oily.

    Try Bare Minerals.

    It works.

My aunt has been a make-up artist for 4 years now.

    I'm also learning myself=]

Nope, I have plenty of amazing true stories from my time in the Army and as an officer.
No, the real Mc Coy will not be bragging and telling many stories. In 22 years of active duty my wife could tell you maybe 5 things that she knows I was involved in while deployed.

And I use my title because I earned it.

    No.

Most people who have BTDT don't feel the need to create BS that never occurred.
You can answer this question yourself. Is it common for someone to lie. Not normally. Let me give you a point of reference here. I am a certified scuba diver with almost enough specialities and dives, another two and seven respectively, to qualify as a Certified Instructor. So I have experience in scuba diving. I will hear scuba divers talk about how deep they dive. That is nothing but trying to impress the listener and be macho because a scuba diver will not see anything much at the deeper depths. It is too dark. Most of the coral and fish are visible and very visible between twenty and sixty feet. Not much at deeper depths to see.
Probably like when you tell your girl friends about your love life
    No - not at all.
Yes the cops lie all the time! They say that people did things that they didn't and have absolutely no proof of but because they are cops their word is better than everyone else's even if it is a lie! Like when they say that they Taze people in the back because they were in fear of their personal safety! In the back! What they turned away from them in a threatening manner????? Cops abuse their power and get away with it!
I've seen it happen, but very rarely. Usually the kinda guy who would do that was A. shady to begin with, and B. usually had a 'shortened' stint in the military/police..

Whats the best make up to wear on holiday?

im going on holiday in march, on a cruise. And im not sure what make-up to wear, if any? I want to go for the natural look.Whats the best make up to wear on holiday?
use a mineral makeupWhats the best make up to wear on holiday?
Skin reacts differently in different climates so be as neutral as you can with makeup. Because the temperature and humidity of where you are going may be very different from what your skin is used to, putting chemicals on it may flare up skin. I would recommend moisturizer and cleanser as a daily ritual on the vacation. Don't bother with foundation or powder as those are most likely to cause flare ups. Lipgloss is safe. Also, remember to put SPF on your face. A brand with few chemicals in in such as Neutrogena.
Waterproof mascara, bit of bronzer %26amp; a lil bit of lip gloss ;) i went on a cruise at xmas.. thats all i wore %26amp; still got a tan ( dont wear foundation it shows up in the sun and doesn't look very nice )
    None!...

During the day: ~Dont wear any, let the sun get to your face as much as poss so you will get a gorgeous tan all over! If you wear make-up, the sun wont get to your face as much. [also, especially dont wear any during the day if you have spotty skin, as the sun will dry them up{sounds ew, ino! ,,but it works :P}]

At Night: ~Wear your normal, everyday make-up you would wear at home for the first, say, 3 days? Until you build up a tan on your face then just stick to blusher, mascara and lipgloss[no base]

    Hope this helps! (: * X
just look for a light foundation (not a light colour a light weight one!) and just add some blush there you go! if you're on holiday around the beach and stuff there's no need for eyeliner and mascara and stuff.

I dont wear much at all. jsut some foundation, blush and little bit of eyeliner works for me. :)

    xo
!natural look is best for holiday!
take some moisturizer high spf, concealer, or use a tint moisturizer, some blush, light eyeshadow colors, eyeliner, and a nice gloss and u will be set

How many calories make up a pound?

3500 caloriesHow many calories make up a pound?
    A pound of what?

    3500 calories = 1 pounds of fat.

    600 calories = 1 pound of muscle.

    HTH : )
600 for muscle, and 3000-3500 for fat.
    3500 calories-1 pound
I agree with the other answers, but I just wanted to add that if you are trying to lose weight, you need to eat 500 less calories a day if you want to lose weight but stay healthy. This should make you lose between 1-2lbs. a week, maybe more depending on your metabolism, activities, and how many calories you already take in. Say you take in 2200 calories right now. If you want to lose weight, limit yourself to 1700 calories a day.
3500 calories is in one pound of fat.

mary kay foundations are awesome. try before you buy!
I like Elizabeth Arden. They have a nice Mousse Make-Up. It's great if you have even toned skin and very light........
I use Bare Escentuals and absolutely swear by it.
    Mary Kay.
Clinique has a nice foundation called perfectly real makeup. It is very light and easy to apply.

    1 teaspoon ground basil

    1 teaspoon ground thyme

    1 teaspoon garlic

    1 teaspoon white pepper

    1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt (sea salt is better)

    1 teaspoon onion powder

    2 teaspoons cayenne pepper

    1 teaspoon paprika

    1. Mix all ingredients together.

    2. Place in an empty used spice bottle or jar for storage.

    3. Refrigeration recommended but not required.
cumin, black pepper, salt, paprika. Cumin is what gives it a smokey flavor
All of the above ingredients can be found in one in Cajun Spice/Seasoning (ie. Emeril's), unless you like to make your own.
    Ingredients

    8 tablespoons unsalted butter

    1 tablespoon ground sassafras

    1/2 teaspoon cumin

    1 tablespoon granulated garlic

    1 teaspoon ground thyme

    1 1/4 teaspoons ground ginger

    pinch of mace

    2 tablepsoons paprika

    1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

    1/8 teaspoon allspice

    Method

    Preparation for Clarified Butter:

Slowly melt the butter at a low temperature [or in the microwave] to separate the milk solids from the golden liquid on the surface. Skim any foam off the top, and pour or skim the clear [clarified] butter off the milky residue. Because the milk solids have been removed, clarified butter may be used to cook at higher temperatures and may be stored longer than regular butter.

Mix ingredients [except butter] together. Coat fish or meat with clarified butter. Pat blackened spice mixture onto fillet. Place in pre-heated cast-iron skillet for three to six minutes on each side, depending on the thickness of the fish or meat.
    INGREDIENTS

    3/4 cup salt

    1/4 cup ground cayenne pepper

    2 tablespoons ground white pepper

    2 tablespoons ground black pepper

    2 tablespoons paprika

    2 tablespoons onion powder

    2 tablespoons garlic powder

    DIRECTIONS

While holding a pint canning jar at an angle, add ingredients to create a ';sand art'; look. The salt and cayenne may be divided into smaller portions and used to separate other spices. I found it simplest to use 7 cups--one with each spice in it--and add them to my jar with a spoon, as I want to create the special look.

How do i help my oily skin not make my make up look nasty later on?

I love these type of questions because I used to have the same problem and I feel so great being able to help someone else who had/have a problem similar to me.

Anyway, the #1 thing I would recommend is an oil mattifier. I use Murad Oil Controlling Mattifier but you can probably find something cheaper. Not only does this reduce the amount of oil on your face that day, but it also makes your face transferproof. You can find a cheaper one from Mary Kay that works well (at least it seems so from the reviews on makeupalley.com).

Next, buy a blot powder. While the mattifier will stop your face from producing as oil it will not completely stop it and you may get some shine at the end of the day. So if you have 10 hour days, then lightly put the blot powder (using a powder brush) on your face when you have shine. How do i help my oily skin not make my make up look nasty later on?
You have to make sure that you skin is exfoliated every other day. And also the best thing for your skin is going to be a dimethicone base mattifying primer. But make sure that you have a nice cleanser and moisturizer for oily skin. You may have to kick out a little bit more money to find the product that works best for your skin. But in the end it is all worth it.How do i help my oily skin not make my make up look nasty later on?
Make sure you're using oil free products or a face wash/moisturizer for oily skin. This can help you control the oil in your face and cause less breakouts. However, if you do get a breakout, I recommend buying the Clean %26amp; Clear oil absorbing sheets. They work great, and you can carry them in your purse and use them whenever you feel like you're face is too oily. They take the oil off instantly and don't remove your makeup. I highly recommend them, I buy them every summer when my T-zone tends to get really oily. Good luck! :)
before the makeup goes on I suggest using what I use Pepino Cleanser and followup with Manzanillo toner from Coonobabe

Use oil free foundation like Savila also from coonobabe
You can either use oil blotting sheets throughout the day or some sort of mattifying gel underneath your makeup. Also, make sure you're using oil-free products on your face.

    Hope that helps!
use Urban Decay Primer Potion before you put on your makeup you can get it at sephora

  • How do I make up places?

I'm going to write a fiction book and I want to make places up, like countries, towns, and oceans. Help me out! I've got writer's block! How do I make up places?
in depends mostly in which place the story is set up and which time ( yr., month) and what type of story (the genre).

If its complete fantasy then weird names

if partial fantasy, then normal names. best not too make up all the names

some fictional names: berona, silicia, palacanar, rasant ocean, the roughnic, teirm, raesal, bedou, karten, aussere ocean, erith, rimany, namarre, darttnornton etc.

its best to name places difficult to pronounce. in most fictional books, i see that most of the made - up names aare difficult to pronounce. How do I make up places?
Try googling a random place generator, or maybe take parts and pieces of places you know and turn them into places. But not something really large, like Miami. Say...Hartfort. Not sure if it's a real place, but it sounds realistic. Or maybe Warrensworth. Good luck!
Start with the ending: ville, worth, City, land, shire, town/ton, ford...

Then think of a prefix- for example, you might try Sea City or Shoreville or whatever you feel like.
You don't need to make up a place. You can search cities online.

What kind of make-up should I use?

hmm. this should be easy right? just pull inspiration straight from minnie's look!

neutral eyeshadow colours (that match your skin tone of course), big false eyelashes, black eyeliner. a little wash of blush - something baby pinkish and peachy. and for lips... it depends on whether you like pink or red lips more. but that's just personal preference. i hope this helps :)

Is '100% orange juice' really made up of only orange or is sugar added to make it sweeter?

read the labelIs '100% orange juice' really made up of only orange or is sugar added to make it sweeter?
yes, the label should tell you...maybe you're wondering why/how it tastes so sweet compared to what you have squeezed at home? in that case it depends on the type of orange...Is '100% orange juice' really made up of only orange or is sugar added to make it sweeter?
do you not understand the concept of 100%
nothing is 100 % natural in food industry. certain additives are added to preserve the quality of the juice and to determine it's duration.

Eg: 100 grams of additives makes the juice last for 1 year.

decreasing the nb of grams will decrease the duration of the product, and vice versa.

    nb: the numbers are symbolic
    100% is 100%
it should be the real thing...100% yummy
    Read the lable lazy
    labelslabelslabels!
As far as I know if it's not from conetrate it's not...
If it says 100% it can't have sugar, but you do have to look for the difference between fresh squeezed and concentrate - I think fresh squeezed is way way better, it seems to have a lot less acid and doesn't upset my stomach the way the reconstituted does...
orange juice do not need sugar if you make it at home but when buying from shop it have to have sugar because pure orange real taste last long only 24 to 48 hrs so to keep it sweet it have to have sugar and other chemicals when its say 100% it can mean that there is no other fruit in this juice only orange so read the label
100% is pretty self explanitory, but if in doubt, read the label. I do recommend that you not buy juice made from concentrate. I only buy Tropicana Pure Premium because I know it's good and only contains oranges

And then I L'Oreal Bare Naturale loose mineral powder seems to work best as far as make up goes. My skin doesn't feel gross and mucky by the time I leave work at the end of the day.Whats the best make up for oily skin?
Moisturize. If you are drying your skin out, it can be causing the acne.

Before going for foundation, take about a month to balance your skin out with a good moisturizer (in the morning and night) and then a good cleanser that is very gentle.

A good brand is Physicians Formula, because their powder foundations are very light, and aren't cakey or intense coverage. That way, if the oil on your face makes it slide off a bit, it's not too obvious.

With the poster above, the use of Kaolin clay may cause small breakouts. I used a powder that was mostly just kaolin, and every time it would break me out. So if you are more sensitive, use with caution.

Also, you can try blotting papers, oil blotting powders that are non coloured, to be sure that your face doesn't get too oily.
Never apply heavy coats of makeup; always keep it light.

Before applying makeup, use an oil-based cleanser. That dissolves oil better. Avoid harsh cleansers. Massage your face so dirt/oil doesn't get in your face.

    Avoid:

    1. Avoid products containing oil from petroleum. This includes mineral oil. Use oil-free makeup or makeup that is intended to benefit oily skin.

    2. Avoid makeup that contains alcohol. Alcohol will strip the skin of oil, which may cause the body to produce even more.

    3. Look for ingredients such as bismuth oxychloride and dimenthicone. Both can clog pores and may cause blemishes. These are commonly found in foundation or powder based products.

    Look for:

    1. Find foundations that contain titanium dioxide, a naturally occurring sun protector.

    2. Makeup for oily skin should contain serecite to reduce the appearance of pores and help absorb oil.

    3. Kaolin clay added in foundation will help oil control.

    4. Zinc oxide used in makeup will act as an anti-inflammatory.

    Hope I helped !

Best to start with the latest Marvin Sapp CD album.....

Best songs by Sapp from that CD are.... ';Never Would Have Made It'; (slow tempo), or ';We've Gone This Far By Faith'; (up-tempo).

Then, try to find music by the earlier gospel greats--Andrae Crouch and Walter Hawkins, especially, had the best 1980s gospel music for praise dancing.

Marvin Gaye himself had a good up-tempo gospel song/Motown song called ';Joy';. This song would be great for you if the songs above are not exciting enough. I was a partial Marvin Gaye fan.

What kind of make up should I use?

I have really pale skin, blue eyes, and red hair (its not flaming red or anything just like a soft ginger red). i wear mascara and eyeliner and it doesnt make me look ghostly or anything. I just dont know like what else to use or what colors i should be working with, i also wear this tinted pink lip gloss =D. thankss in advancee. What kind of make up should I use?
try a soft bronze eyeshadow and some light pink blush to bring out the colors of your hair. your description sounds really pretty, you don't really have much to do. also, try using liquid black liquid eyeliner to wing your eyes. What kind of make up should I use?
For your skin use a nice soft cream face powder. For your cheeks use some bronzer to bring out the red in your hair. You can also try brown mascara and brown eyeliner. The color purple would be nice with your eyes too. You could also try purple eyeliner for your eyes. I really like to use eyeliners more than eyeshadows for my eyes. I think it brings out the eyes a little bit more and makes your makeup look natural. For your lips you should try some soft brown almost a goldish look for your lips. Also try this website i found it has ideas you can find for red heads :) good luck!!
    I think you should try a neutral color eyeshadow, close to the natural shade of your eyelids, with a hint of brown, a brownish blush, and a reddish-orange or red lipgloss or lipstick. Hope I helped. :}

  • They say asexuals make up about 1% of the population. Do you believe that?

I know people who just love being single and no desire to get intimate, I mean they probably classify themselves as straight because not everyone is familiar with the term ';asexual'; but still I think it's more common than they claim. They say asexuals make up about 1% of the population. Do you believe that?
My friend is straight and she hasn't been with a guy for a very long time (3 yrs). She is a bit of a prude, i would never discuss anything intimate with her, but she is a good laugh.

She's only 25 which is rare, but she says she just hasnt got the confidence to date guys cos she feels ugly.

I think she is asexual, and i think that this has influenced me because i haven't been with anyone for almost a year which is tooooo long!!!!They say asexuals make up about 1% of the population. Do you believe that?
I'm not sure, since i don't understand the sexual drive of the human brain (i'm not even going to try to understand the workings of it). The biology of wanting sex with the opposite sex to procreate is obviously flawed hence homosexuals so it's not the 'normal natural' way unless all homosexuals are sexually wrong (...how? They still have the ability to procreate). I guess why not, asexuals probably exist and they get more trouble than homosexuals even since hardly anybody knows what they are.
many people misunderstand what the word asexual means. an asexual person is someone who has no sexual attraction to anything whatsoever. this does not include religious people who are ';celibate';, because they still have sexual desires, they just repress them.

the real number is probably lower than 1%.
thank you for rewording your question, now you make more sense ^-^........just because someone loves being single doesn't mean that they are asexual.....they just like being single....i do understand what your saying.....just out of curiosity where did you hear this fact, I've never heard it before.....
I think it might be higher than that. I classify myself as bisexual, but I'm not eager to get back into a relationship either, so I don't know what's up with me. Because at least now, that sounds like me.
I would think that 1% is probably a bit low but it is difficult to get accurate figures on this sort of thing so I suspect the 1% is as accurate as you are going to get
I've only known one truly asexual person but that's not really conclusive proof either way
anythings possible, i don't think i'm asexual but im still a virgin.
to many religious buff fall into this category, must be more than 1%.
I think that's a bit high for true asexuals.
    My wife is one.
    Well I'm one.

soo when you wear glasses it's definitely important to not put to much makeup on your eyes ... a light eyeshadow and mascara work great.. and a light eyeliner a brown or gray...as far as eyeshadows go i'd use like a light brown that works well with everyone or a soft blue with a little blush and lip gloss and that's perfect!'

p.s. you don't necessarily have to match your makeup to your glasses
I recently began wearing glasses %26amp; I used 2 feel like it took away 4rm my look (b/c im a make up head %26amp; the eyes r the most important feature 2 dress) yet now I just use jet black liquid liner (NYC 2 b exact) %26amp; lots of mascara so my eyes r still visible thru the glasses
wear whatever makeup you feel is right wearing glasses doesnt make a difference so wear mascara eyeliner foundation base eyeshadow eyeglitter whatever you'll know when you overdo do it
Mascara is a must - it will make your eyes look more open and help give them definition behind the glasses.
you can be more dramatic with eyeshadows, use lots of mascara

Are there any make-up courses available for 13-14 year-olds?

I live in England and as a birthday present I was wondering if it was possible to get any make-up courses here. Does anybody know of anything? Are there any make-up courses available for 13-14 year-olds?
for GCSE options you can take hair and beauty which will be free nad get you qualifications. if not, most beauticians do one-off make-up lessons where they teach you to do your make-up good and then do it for you. this will normally be for any age that wants it and their reasonably cheap. i went for one a few weeks ago which cost about 20 pounds but you can get them cheaper. Are there any make-up courses available for 13-14 year-olds?
Log on to makeupgeek.com she has numerous tutorials. Also log on to youtube and if there is a particular colour you want to experiment with do a search in youtube. ie ';purple eyeshadow'; or ';purple smokey eyes'; for example; youtube will display numerous tutorials using purple eyeshadow.
There are several salons that do makeup lessons, i had one for my 16th and it cost about 拢30

Also, colleges do courses after school so ask around

Best thing to do is pop into salons and schools and ask if they do makeup lessons/courses
go to a makeup studio and usually they will give you a little lesson if you scedule an appointment there!

What kind of make up should I use if I am wearing a long black prom dress?

    i dont know why,

but with a long black dress i can see green eyeshadow, peach blush, and peach lipstick

:]What kind of make up should I use if I am wearing a long black prom dress?
light makeup not to darkWhat kind of make up should I use if I am wearing a long black prom dress?
Probably a little darker make-up than you usually do. Nearly any color would be good with black. Eye liner the color of your eyes, shadow maybe in a light grey if blue eyes.
go to the mske up plase and pay them to do it normally look georus when thwy do it
i would have to say put black eyeliner on the bottom, a thin line of it on the top, then silver sparkles. i think that would look gorgeous/.
I say dark eyeliner, with dramatic eyes. Everywhere else should be a little natural, maybe some bronzer and clear lip gloss.
smokey eyes always look good with a black dress. But just remember if you do smokey eyes go easy on the lips.
I would wear like silver eyeshadow with a little bit of pink, and not nuch bluch, and pretty, shiny, lip-gloss. Your going to look good!
A neutral [ grays or browns ] eye, and either pink/peach/coral blush and lip color combo.

Could wear red lip and cheeks if very strong coloring.

Add gold, silver, or 'diamond' earrings/necklace - you need a bit of sparkle!
    With a long black dress...

    Eyes:

    - silver metallic shiny eyeshadow would be useful

    - black mascara

this will bring out the colour of the dress

    Lips:

    - right now i am thinking clear lipgloss or a bright red colour to bring out your dress!

    Cheeks:

    - Just bronzer to make it look very pretty and shiny at night time

    :)

  • What colour of make up should i use and how do u put make up on?

i have brownish greenish eyes, freckles all over my face, and my hair colour is sort of brown with some red and blonde in it. i dont know what colour of make up i should use for myself and how do u put it on? also, i dont know if i should buy cheap or expensive makeup... which is better? What colour of make up should i use and how do u put make up on?
Well, I would recommend that you go to a make-up counter at the mall and have them give you a ';make up lesson'; or a ';makeover';... Usually, it's free, it's fun and you can learn how to put on make-up... Don't be too ';distraught'; at the amount of products the artist uses on you.. Remember they are there to sell... If you have good skin meaning no blemish's or bump or anything you can use very little make-up.. The key products in my opinion are moisturizer, foundation and powder.. If you need it... You may be able to use just a tinted moisturizer.. Eye shadow colors, blush, mascara, eye liner you can buy those at the drugstore or Walmart.. If you like a look and have a camera phone take a picture of the colors that were used for a visual refrence.. My skin fluctuates so I buy my foundation/powder/serum from dept. store. The rest I buy from Target, Walmart etc... I like Physician's Formula it's inexpensive, the compacts are sturdy and I love the powder/blush.. Just go to the mall and have fun with it.. You may not like the first ';artist'; you see so try several different companies.. I prefer Origins.. They use AVEEDA like products that are all natural, I have sensitive skin... Which brings me to my next thing.. If you are planning on wearing make-up it's important that you take it off at night and have a cleansing routine.. Or your face may breakout.. I like Cetaphil cleanser 2x a day with a good moisturizer.. If you have oily skin use some witch hazel it's alcohol free and super cheap just apply with a cotton pad.. I also use a bit of baking soda 2x a week to exfoliate my face... It's cheap and it's gentle... Good luck and I hope this helps..What colour of make up should i use and how do u put make up on?
    buy expensive makeup.
if u dont know read in magazines
I would probably go to the mall and get a consultation done, they will tell what colors and how to do them. But you do not have to get all your make-up expensive for it to work. I would suggest getting an expensive foundation and eyeliner b/c those you just can not skimp on. The rest you can get at drug stores that work not quite as well but very good for a lot less.
Whatever you choose, use it sparingly. The modern use of makeup for women began in the 1930s and 40s to make themselves look better in nightclubs where you usually had a low light situation and restaurants where candle light was often the main illumination. That same amount of makeup in daytime situations can make most women look like they're trying to join a mime group. In other words, it looks fake. Don't get sucked into the idea that you have to wear heavy makeup for daily use.
I really think that pastel colors, such as light pink, blue or green would look really good on you, but try to match it with your outfits. If you're wearing darker clothes, then brown make up for your eyes and a light orange lip gloss for the lips. if you're wearing lighter clothes then you should go with the pastel colors for your eyes and pink lip gloss for the lips. And expensive make up is better, if you can afford it :)
are you british? cause I like the way you spell color. Colour
first of all it all depends on your complexion and what style if you going for a natural tone go for colors closer to your skin complexion if your going for a night out thing try mixing it up with very soft purples or blues

use mascara but make sure you dab the very end on a napkin so its clumpy and it goes on easy
    eh.............. i dont know..

    expensive..works better.
the expensive stuff is better and its expensive for a reason! it works better, lasts longer and isnt as bad for ur skin. if you want to know wat make up to use, go to a department store and get help from the people who work there. they know the products well and are able to find the right shades for you. if your a beginner, i suggest using a brand like revlon first!

I never sent Thank You notes from my wedding 4 years ago. How can I make up for this?

I don't know if I should do anything now or not. I'm in a different place in my life now, and I would like those people to know that I appreciate their generousity.I never sent Thank You notes from my wedding 4 years ago. How can I make up for this?
Send a letter, being very specific about your growth, and that you appreciated that they were a part of the process. They obviously care about you in some way. Just own up to the fact that you screwed up, and thank them now.

Better late than never.I never sent Thank You notes from my wedding 4 years ago. How can I make up for this?
I think it's a little too late for thank you cards, it would sound silly. What you can do is either make a telephone call - it sounds more personal and excuse yourself with a joke or something, as long as the message goes through; or with an e-mail.
You should definitely send them now. Just be honest. It's okay to let people know that you are in a different place now than you were then--everyone should be so blessed! I would absolutely appreciate it if someone did that-it's never too late to change what you can! Good luck.
Emily Post would tell you that after one year, you probably should not send a note of thanks (one year is the supposed time limit for thanking folks for a gift). I would say kill two birds with one stone. Include an asterisk or a generic thank you for all of your support/encouragement/kindess in your annual Christmas/Kwanzaa/Hanukkah/New Year holiday greeting cards and call it a day~
Send the thank you notes now. Better late than never!
I am sure everyone has forgotten about it by now. However, if you are feeling guilty about it.... Compile a list of those you need to send a card to, inside with the card write a small simple apology. Then at least people will see that you care. Just write something like with all lifes changes at the time it totally slipped your mind. However you are appreciative for their attendance/gifts whatever. Then at least you won't be feeling guilty and your friends will probably find it nice to know that you did not forget about them. (even four years later)
u can txt.. email.. but if the guilt doesnt get to u.. then sleep over it
Do it now..its nt too late. Jus apologize for not doing it at that time..
    Get some cards made up that have a clock/watch on the front, and the saying, ';Better Late than Never.';

Then just write them a nice note, thanking them for their kindness, apologizing for your tardiness and, most importantly, updating them on your life now.

They'll be appreciate that you are thinking of them and will be glad to hear from you.

    Have fun!
It's never to late to send a thank you note to anyone. Just plead an oversight, and let it be. People are always happy to get thank you notes!. Bill
thank each person one at a time if you still see them socially dont make any excuse just say im sorry i was negligent
It's never to late to say thank you.

    And it's always appreciated.
You could always send out a thank you note to everyone and attach a short explaination to it. People would probably get a ';kick'; out of getting a thank you note now.
Wow, 4 years is a long time, but it's better to do it late than never to do it at all. When you send them out just explain that you've been really busy and trying to adjust to your new married life. Like I said, 4 years is a long time, but the people who get the thank you cards should appreciate that you sent them at all.

    I hope this helps.
Make up for it in your next wedding anniversary. Sent them special cards.
I dont' think you could fix it. You should let sleeping dogs lie.
if you have a list of people, then send out cards now
it is too late for a thank you for that one event in your life but not too late for a letter of appreciation about them being part of your life.

just tell them how glad that they have been part of your life for so many years.

you might even want to invite them all to a simple party for no special reason and during that make a toast/speech honoring all your guests for being the special people that they are to you.
Follow Robsthings advice. I love the advice to send a nice thank you note with a small letter stating you have grown up and realize the err of your ways and you truly appreciate the gift.
Oops, I think it's too late now. If they are people that you usually don't keep in touch with, maybe you could just drop them a note to say hi. Don't mention anything about the wedding gifts though, it may sound tacky or it may sound like you are trying to hit them up for more presents.
I would still send the thank-you notes with a sincere and honest apology for not sending them sooner. Maybe add a bit of humor to it by throwing in something like ';if you know me, you know I'm a chronic procrastinator....'; I think most people will appreciate the thank you even as late as it is.

Do you have children now? Maybe send along a recent family picture as well.

    Good luck!
Assuming you are still married, and still in contact with all your wedding guests, why not invite them round for dinner, or to see your ';new'; home? Unless you had 200 people at your wedding...

i have oily skin and it makes sense if that's whats causing it to rub off, but how do i make it stay on longer so i don't have to keep reapplying? How do i keep my eye make up stay on longer?
Clinique makes a great eyeshadow base. It makes your eye makeup last until you take it off, and it comes in different shades to fit any skin tone. I've tried a lot of others, but this is the one I will stick with. It's only $13, which makes it even better. How do i keep my eye make up stay on longer?
Primer is key and there's a whole bunch to choose from. There's Urban Decay's Primer Potion, Mac has a Prep %26amp; Prime but hardly anyone uses it. Most people either uses a MAC shade stick or a paint pot. I've also seen concealer used on more than one occasion.
Make sure you are using a base underneath your eyeshadow.. also .. they make Makeup Forever's ';Mist %26amp; Fix';.... i guess it's supposed to set the makeup.. i've personally never used it.. but i am planning on getting some because i've heard lots of good about it.
by applying foundation over your eye lids first you can help to keep the make up there longer. also the brand and quality of your makeup can affect this smudging greatly....
u need an eye shadow base

use urban decay primer potion ($16)

    or

    too faced shadow insurance ($19)

    they both work great

  • What is the correct procedure, step by step, to putting on a good face of make-up?

    Step 1: Foundation

Select a foundation for your skin type that matches your underlying skin tone exactly. Using the flat, smooth surface of a round, nonporous synthetic sponge, pour some foundation onto the sponge, then transfer the foundation in dots and dabs all over the face and the eyelids. You can also use your fingers to transfer the foundation in dots from the bottle to the face. Use your sponge to blend the foundation down and out over the face. Do not apply foundation on the neck or under the chin.

    Step 2: Concealer

Use a concealer that is one or two shades lighter than your foundation. Apply it in a small arc around the inside corner of the eye. Using your fingers or a concealer brush, blend the concealer out evenly by dabbing and buffing. You can also apply concealer to the eyelid if that area is dark or, if your concealer has a matte finish, as a way to help eyeshadow cling better. For concealing facial discolorations such as freckles, blemishes, or red spots, use a concealer that matches or is just slightly lighter than your natural skin tone.

    Step 3: Powder

After you apply the foundation and concealer, dust a light layer of powder over the entire face and eyelids. Apply the powder with a large, full, round brush. Pick up some of the powder on the full end of the brush, knock off the excess, and brush it on using the same motion and direction as you did for the foundation (down and out).

    Step 4: Eyeshadow

All of the options for building an eye design are too numerous to list here. Typically, the lightest color is applied to the entire eyelid and to the edge of the eyebrow. (The general rule is that the larger or more prominent the eyelid area is compared with the under-brow area, the darker or deeper the eyelid color can be; the smaller the eyelid area is compared with the under-brow area, the brighter or lighter the eyelid color can be.) Select a deeper color from the same or a complementary color family to shade the crease. Practice your application and blend well; the goal is not to have obvious edges of color. Remember, lighter colors bring things forward and highlight, dark colors recede and add depth and shading.

    Step 5: Eyeliner

Position the brush, pencil, or applicator as close to the lashline along the eyelid as possible. Then draw a line from the inner to outer corner using one fluid stroke, following the curvature of the eyelid. As a general rule, do not extend the line past the outer corner of the eye or hug the tear duct area of the eye. Generally, the line along the lower lashes should be thinner and a less-intense color than the upper liner. Make sure that the two lines meet at the back corner of the eye. As a general rule, the larger the eyelid area, the thicker and softer the eyeliner should be. The smaller the eyelid area, the thinner and more intense the liner should be.

    Step 6: Eyebrow Shaping

Use a color that closely matches the color of your brows rather than your hair color or a color you think would look better than what already exists. Apply powder brow color using a wedge brush, working in the direction the hair grows. Use a light touch, with short, quick motions, and avoid the temptation to exaggerate the shape of the brow by arching it severely or extending the brow into the temple area.

    Step 7: Mascara

If you use a lash curler, it is best to use it before you apply mascara. Squeeze gently with even pressure. Hold for a few seconds as you “walk” the curler along the length of the eyelashes, and release slowly. Apply mascara to the upper lashes using long, sweeping strokes. Be sure to begin as close to the lash root as possible and brush up and out. Use an old, cleaned-up mascara wand to remove any clumping that occurs.

    Step 8: Blush

Using a blush brush, apply blush along the full line of the cheekbone brushing down and back toward the ear. Always knock the excess powder out of the brush to avoid applying too much blush. Use your sponge to soften any hard edges. Do not apply blush to the temple area, chin, nose, or forehead--this tends to make skin look uneven and ruddy.

Step 9: Lipstick and Lip Liner

A lip brush or lip pencil is an optional accessory. You can use a lip pencil to draw a definitive edge around the mouth to follow when applying lipstick, and a lip brush to control your application. A standard tube of lipstick makes too wide a mark for some lips and too narrow a mark for others. If your lips are small, it is best to use a lip brush; if your lips are large, the only reason to use a lip brush is to improve your accuracy, especially with deeper shades such as red. Line the actual shape of your mouth. Do not use corrective techniques that make the mouth look larger or longer, especially for daytime makeup--it almost always looks like a mistake. If you want your lipstick to last, apply more of it and don’t blot; blotting takes off several layers before you’ve even left the house. What is the correct procedure, step by step, to putting on a good face of make-up?

What is the correct procedure, step by step, to putting on a good face of make-up?
First of all you should never, never put makeup on a face that has just been cleansed toned and moisturised as the make-up will go straight into your pores that have just been opened with the facial, always leave it about an hour so that the pores can close again. Second, put on moisturiser before you start so that you foundation goes on smoothly.

Apply you foundation with a sponge or brush (you can buy them at any chemist) in downwards strokes towards the jawline. Go over the jawline and blend with fingers down your neck for even coverage and no tide mark. Apply concealer ON TOP of your foundation and blend with your finger with a light stroke. Put powder on top of the foundation to set it. Loose powder is the best thing to use without a doubt as you actually put less on than with a pressed powder and it will look more natural.

Next you apply a blusher to the apple of your cheekbone in one smooth stroke towards the hairline. TIP: for skintone, pale skin suits pinker tones whilst olive skins tend to look better with more orange, or bronze tones. When you apply the blusher, tap the brush on the back of you hand lightly to get rid of the excess to avoid getting a punk streak going on.

Eyeshadow is very much personal preference, the general rule being browns and greens for blue eyes and browns and blues for brown eyes, but it is completely up to you. I always use at least two colours, a very pale natural colour for the lid and up to the brow bone and then a darker colour on the lid for definition. Mascara is essential as it frames the eyes so beautifully. I would invest in a good mascara as there is nothing worse than clumps. Apply at least two coats to the top and bottom lashes and open your eyes as wide as you can so that the lash sets into a curve. If you pull your lashes down instead of pushing them up the definition isn't nearly as good.

Finally add some lipstick or some gloss to finish. If you have small lips use a natural coloured lip gloss as it will make them look fuller and plumper, solid lipcolour will accentuate it.

Last Tip: Never have really made up eyes and bold coloured lips. Pick which feature you like the best and play it up.
Go to one of the counters in Debenhams or other department store - contrary to what people think, the ladies there are really nice and helpful and will give you all the advice you need (and will probably show you how using all their expensive products)!!
There is no ';correct procedure'; as such, because different skin requires different treatment. Rich moisturiser, while great for dry skin, would make oily skin slippy and shiny.

Firstly, you need to know your skin type. Oily, dry, combination (with an oily T-zone) sensitive or normal. Combination skin should be treated like two separate types of skin.

Then find a good cleanser specially formulated for your skin type. The best cleanser for oily skin, or the T-zone of combination skin contains microbeads to clear the pores of oil, dirt and grime. I would recommend St Ives Apricot Scrub for oiky/acne prone skin. Sensitive skin needs a cleanser which is as gentle as possible, hypo-allergenic and made from natural products if possible. Dry skin needs a cleanser which moisturises the skin too.

So now you've cleansed. The traditional way is ';cleanse, tone, moisturise'; but that's considered very outdates now. Toners are harsh astringents usually containing alcohol. They damage dry/sensitive skin, are not necessary for normal skin and dry out oily skin, making it produce more oil.

Use a moisturiser formulated for your skin type on any areas you get dry skin. But don't apply moisturiser to oily skin before applying makeup, it'll make it even harder to get it to stay on!

To start your makeup, firstly apply a primer. The secret weapon of many makeup artists, primer smooths out wrinkles, moisturises dry skin, reduces eyebags and blemishes and prevents oily skin from getting shiny. It also prevents your face getting sweaty. They also make you look better in photos! I really recommend Boots Number 7, £9.00. If your face has irregular blotches of colour, they have a different primer to even out your skin tone. If your skin is near perfect - if your face is shine, spot and wrinkle free - then you can probably skin this stage.

Next it's time to apply foundation (again, if you need it). Dry skin is better off with a moisturising, liquid foundation. Oily or combination skin are better off with a balancing, shine-concealing matte foundation. Liquid to powder foundations are very popular, or Maybelline matte mousse is excellent. Ensure your foundation is non-comedogenic (won't block pores). For normal or sensitive skin, tinted moisturiser can give you a healthy glow without looking too ';made up';.

Next, concealer. Liquid concealer is rubbish for blemishes - your best bet is a thick coverstick concealer such as Miss Sporty Clear Complexion Concealer. Be sure to blend well! For eyebags, a thin layer of light-reflecting concealer works wonders.

Next, to give you a youthful, healthy glow and sculpted cheekbones a small amount of blush on the apples of your cheeks, and high lighter on the cheek bone itself should do the trick. Some people also like to apply bronzer, but less is more! It's so easy to get carried away and turn orange. Get the lightest colour bronzer you can get away with, and apply lightly with a large, soft-bristled brush to the apples of your cheeks, the tip of your nose, chin and middle of your forehead.

For oily or combination skin, a small amount of powder can help set your makeup. Go lightly - a heavy powder mask is very aging and harsh on wrinkles. For touch ups during the day, don't be tempted to layer on more powder. If your skin gets shiny, use blotting paper instead to remove excess oil and leave a thin layer of powder behind.

That should be everything! Sorry to ramble on for ages, but as I had to cover all the different skin types, it took me a while! hope this helps take care x

I would suggest you go to MAC if there is one around you. Make an appointment during the week not Friday, Saturday or Sunday because they are very busy. There they will walk you step by step on how to apply your makeup. When you go they will ask you how you would like your makeup done, I usually say I want something dramtic so that way I can learn the hardest way first. You will love it I promise
Trust me hun ive been into make-up and beauty since i was 3 years old lol. I think first you need a base for your face, i reccomend Oil of Olay beauty fluid, they have the classic and one for sensitive skin, not only is it non-greasy but affordable and smells great too. Then you should start any powder/blush/foundation on your face. Then go to the eyes, and then the lips. I'll also give you a beauty tip for the lips, to make your lipstick, last longer apply it then get a tissue dab your lips and apply it again, it really works! Or use Lipcote, if you can feel the tingle from it then its working or to add a bit of shine as well use lipcote glitzy available in all different colours!

    The first rule is:-

use a light moisturiser but don't apply anything else for at least 5 mins (10 if you have time). This way your skin will have absorbed all of it %26amp; your makeup won't slide off.

    Hi

I would advice you to try simple home based remedies for any kind of acne, skin and hair problems. This information on this website sure did help me so here goes http://www.wellnesstalk.org/3_25_0.html

    Good luck
i would say the first step is to find a moisturiser that suits you, an advisor at boots can help with this, then a foundation that is light, not heavy, it should emphasise your face not look like a mask, and only be applied where necessary, then a powder to set your foundation, a nice rose blush for apples of cheeks or a bronzer for the sunkissed look, groomed eyebrows are a must as they frame the eyes, in my opinion less is definately more, so a very light shadow with a light shimmer will bring out colour in your eyes, and a smudge proof mascara, i always finnish with a lipgloss rather that lipstick, i think its far sexier and pretty than heavy lipstick. good luck
    Wash, cleanse, tone, moisturise...

Then put your slap on. I start with my foundation, then my blusher, then concentrate on my eyes, finishing with a bit of lippy!! However you feel really. I have a bit of a ritual that I follow!
well i have been an avon rep for 22 years i always start with a good cleanser and toner then i use a make up base or face illuminator then on goes foundation rubbing it in well around the eyes face and smooth down to the neck , next the eyeshadow gently dust your eyelids with a powder eye colour then onto the eyeliner not to thick , then mascara use thick mascara to make your eyes stand out or lightly brush ur lashes with a tinted mascara for a very light effect , then get a light shimering powder to dust all over face apply a little blusher not 2 much as u will look like aunt sally then on with lipstick put lipstick on then dab lips with a tissue reapply and lippy should stay on longer also best colours to use are light browns bronzes beiges and black mascara /eyeliner and a peach or pale pink lippy

Start with a nice fresh clean face, then start with your foundation with you should apply past the face so it looks nice and even all over i.e blend into the neck area, then start with the eyes and depending on how you like your make up apply, i always find it easier to put on any mascara first just a tiny bit then the eyeshadpw coz if u smudge u mess up your eyeshadow if u put the mascara on last, once u have done the eyeshadow and then add any eye liner if thats what you like to wear, once u have done the eyes then do the lips, sometimes your lips look better if you run a tooth brush on them because it gets rid of any dry flaky skin, then a tiny touch of vaseline over them always works wel before putting whatever you want on your lips.
cleanse tone and moisturize your skin. Apply some loose powder over your face to make a good base. Apply foundation and conceal dark spots . Put on some blush, then eye shadow, followed by lipliner and lipstick. End off by putting on some lipgloss then mascara and to finish it all spritz a little moisture mist on your face to keep it fresh (don't hold the bottle too close, you'll smash your whole makeup job)
